Lifedrawing2: The use of spherical forms in gesture

——–A little review of Glenn Vilpuu’s lecture

Spherical form is really critical to being able to take and think three-dimensionally. Particularly in the animation industry.

The first step in the drawing is just a simple flow of movement that you’re trying to communicate. It doesn’thave to be complicated.

Next, we go over the surface of the form to show the direction of the form. other words, when we are drawing a line like that, we are already setting limits in here and thinking it all the way through and visualizing the outside edges of that form (Using brackets to emphasize the outlines.).

Then it’s time to think about forms that are overlapping each other. We can simply draw a line that goes over the surface, and then we get a twist of that sphere.

Some tips: feel the pushing in, feel the stretching, and also feel the compression.
