Figure Drawing3: Templates of arms

1Rythm = 2 Directional Force + 1 Applied Force
The hardest part of drawing arms is actually to ignore a lot of muscular part.(don’t get caught up in the anatomy.)
Side view of an arm

Tips:
- Come from the back to the front of the shoulder.
- And then from the front of the shoulder, sweeping down the back of the arm.
- And then hit the wrist.
- Your elbow usually lands around the bottom of your rib cage.
- The force is always on the elbow side.
Raise the arm

Tips:
- Come from the front of the deltoid(shoulder)
- Arc way up (one long curve)
- two rhythms
Rotate elbow up

Tips:
- Still one directional force
- one line curve until we get to the wrist
Two options of drawing an arm
It’s either 3 forces-arm or 1 force arm

Tips:
- It is almost always to be one force
- One force, except the model is so darn flexible that they hyperextend their elbow. So all of a sudden we’re driven to visit this side of the arm.
